Yesterday, Kate-Kate and I gave the boys a scavenger hunt challenge: find something to represent each letter of the alphabet while out and about in Vail. They had a list of all the letters so they could cross them off as they found them, and they had to take a picture of each one. They had a lot of fun with this, so much so that they did it twice!
So here, without further ado, and in no particular order (since they didn't have to find them in order), is Round 1.
"F"--fountain
"T"--toy store
"R"-- rail
"B"--bench
"W"--wheel
"S"-- stroller
"U"-- umbrella
"C" -- cargo
"H"-- hydrant
"L" -- lantern
"G" -- golden
"V" -- van (see it back there, behind the finger? LOL)
"E" -- Einstein
"P" -- picnic table
"Q" -- quick (Cody was running...this one was hard, so they had to think outside the box a bit)
"M" -- Mini-Cooper
"N" -- newspaper
"Y" -- yellow
"A" -- ashtray
"I" -- insect
"X" -- this one was hard, too, so they improvised
"D" -- dog
"K" -- Kidsport (a store)
"J" -- Jackson
"O" -- octagon
"Z" -- zone (Cody accidentally took video of the sign LOL)
I think even they were surprised at how quickly they were able to find everything, so they decided to challenge themselves with Round 2.
"S" -- Sonnenalp
"P" -- parking
"H" -- honeywagon (that's the Vail garbage truck)
"B" -- bicycle
"F" -- flag
"R" -- rock
"W" -- window
"I" -- ice cream
"C" -- chair
"M" -- mountain
"V" -- Vail
"A" -- art
"L" -- lampost
"K" -- Kate-Kate
"T" -- tubers (they're tiny in the water in the distance, but they're there!)
"G" -- gun
"O" -- only
"E" -- estate
"J" -- Joe's
"N"
"U" -- us
"Y" -- yell
"Z" -- zipper
"Q" -- quiet
"X" -- this is their list to keep track of their letters
"D" -- dance (this is by far the best one of the day)
It was great to see them being creative and coming up with things Kate and I would never have thought of or would have completely missed. Golden? Cargo? Quiet? And that dance number?
I also love seeing Vail from their point of view, fingers-blocking-the-lens and all!
So much fun!
