Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

This morning, Kate-Kate, the boys and I rode our bikes over to the Betty Ford Gardens. We had a great time wandering around looking at all the beautiful plants and flowers. It's such a pretty place.

Jackson, Cody and Luke deemed this cool tree a "lightning tree." First, because it looks like it might have been struck by lightning because of its split, twisty and gnarled shape. But also because if you look at it just right, it looks like a lightning bolt! Harry Potter would dig it. :)

These three trees were dying due to an infestation due to the Pine Bark Beetle, so artists dissected them and relocated them to the gardens. Now they are a super-cool art installation, and a neat place to sit. Can you find  Luke, Cody and Jackson?

Cody found a comfy perch.

Luke loved climbing on all the rocks.

The boys posed with their Kate-Kate. They are loving having her here with us in Vail! (And Luke appears to have taken a page out of Cody's winking book here!)

I am loving having Kate-Kate in Vail, too!
