Cody's Christmas Open House

This morning I joined all the parents in Cody's class for a special Open House in their classroom. The kids sang a couple of songs and then served us cookies and punch. They also presented us with a special Christmas present: a handmade tree ornament with their school picture inside.

Though Cody is always such a serious customer at school, he loves music and we've been listening to him sing these songs for the last couple of weeks, so I knew he was looking forward to today. He rocked his Baby Jesus like a pro, wished us a Merry Christmas, and hopped Santa right out of the chimney. It was so great to watch.
Notice that he is a full head taller than every other kiddo in his class. And doesn't he look so much like Anthony? Merry Christmas Codes!

Cody, your mama was wonderful to take pictures this morning so that Gramma could "see" you in your special Christmas program at school even though she couldn't be right there to see you.
I loved your smile. And, I really liked seeing pictures of you singing & doing all the movements for "Baby Jesus"! Sometimes, other people in our family need us to be there with them & for them. And Jackson needed Gramma this morning because he had to come home from school...his eye itched & swelled up & hurt when he closed his eye to rest & his eye leaked what looked like tears that he had to mop up with a napkin so he needed to have someone be with him. Then, because Gramma was there, Mama was able to leave Luke at home to play with Gramma so she could take pictures with her camera of you & listen to you sing. Wasn't it great to have Mama at your school today?! Next time you have something at school, Gramma will try to go too!
