When Mama's Away....

One of my favorite things about leaving the boys with Daddy is that by the next day, they've always learned something new.

JW has been watching the movie Spaceballs with A. He likes the big spaceship and the HalfMan-HalfDog. There's some profanity in it, but we thought it was all going over his head. And then I had both boys in the Old Navy dressing room with me while I feverishly tried on 5 pairs of pants and 2 tops in under a minute. JW was dancing around trying to keep CM amused, and he decided to test out the acoustics of the small space. At the top of his lungs, he shouts, "We're not doing it for money.....we're doing it for a S**TLOAD of money!!!" (a quote from the film. ) Oh, the mortification. And when I talked to him in a quiet voice about the fact that that was a grown-up word and not appropriate for little boys, he said, "Mama, *MONEY* is NOT a bad word!"

And then last night, I had dinner with some friends and while I was gone, the boys watched some music videos with Daddy. A educated Jacks on the difference between "wussy" and "rockin'" songs. So in the car today, I hear from the backseat, "Mama, this is a wussy song. I like ROCKIN' songs." He practically rolled his R and roared, he was so proud to share his musical critique. So I started flipping radio stations to find something better and I stopped on something that sounded good to me. And yet, it still wasn't good enough my little rocker. "This is NOT a rockin' song."

Jacks also tried calling Daddy a "wanker" this weekend. Oy. I'm in big, big trouble. ;)
